Who should be King of England?

What aspects make a good king? Decisive? Brave? Wise? These are all rather good, but the main things to look for in a good king are the following: a good warrior of the nation, being english, being a relative of the past king, and mostly important, being an experienced leader.

The contestants of the roll of king of England are: William of Normandy, Harold Godwinson, Harald Hardraada, or Edgar. Her is some information about each contestant...

Edgar Aetheling: He is the nephew of the past King, Edward. However, he is only 8 years of age, and so he would not be experienced enough. Although, he is closest in relation to the past king. Edgar also lives abroadRemove formatting from selection, so he would not be able to be as good a king if he lived in a country that he isn't ruling.

William of Normandy: William was promised the throne by Edward. His fellow country - Norway - is very close to England, and Edward (as a boy) had lived there for a while and so William became close to Edward from the start. An extra good point to William being the king of England is that he is very powerful and experienced. He is also a very good warrior. To add, William helped Edward out of trouble when he had quarrelled with the Godwinson family.

Harold Godwinson: He is a proper Englishman, and is very popular. Harold is a very good soldier and he is powerful and experienced. His family have been Edward's advisors and he claimed that Edward had promised him the throne just before he died. He is also Edward's brother- in-law, and is the second-most closely related contestant (Edgar is the first) .

Harald Hardraada: Even though he is not related to Edward, he is related to one of England's previous kings. He is king of Norway, and Norway used to rule England so he is quite experienced. He is quite popular with people in the north of England, which is a bonus. He is powerful and is a good soldier.
